A New Start

26 July 2024, El Paso, TX, Steven Young – Steven Zimmerman, a reporter with the Jerusalem Press, will be leaving our group of publications to open an art gallery, The Royal Amulet, and studio, The Copper Trinity.

“Growing up,” says Steven Zimmerman, “I learned to paint with my grandmother. She created some of the most moving works I’ve ever seen.”

Mr. Zimmerman also says that his mother also taught him other art techniques such as mixed media.

“Since working as a photojournalist I began building my own wet and dry plate cameras,” says Steven. “Creating my own cameras has allowed me to grow as a photographer, and artist.”

Mr. Simmerman is currently curating what will become his first public show.

“My first showing, at The Royal Amulet, will encompass what I call ‘found moments,’” Mr. Zimmerman says. “These are prints that present a slice of life that we can all relate to.”

While Mr. Zimmerman is leaving the Jerusalem Press as a full-time reporter, his work will still find its way onto our pages.

“Mr. Zimmerman will continue on as a reporter and photojournalist for the us at the Jerusalem Press,” says Yitzhak ben Moshe, the editor of our web and print editions. “Steven will continue to contribute as freelance editor and writer, with a focus on law enforcement and crime.”

We all wish Mr. Zimmerman well in his new endeavors.
