The EPPDiddy
This is a Letter to the Editor that was submitted to Southwest News Today. Our policy is to publish Letter to the Editor.
(This by no means are there connections to this particular story only a visual similarity of different circumstances involving high profile entities of power, I will leave this for public opinions to determine a conclusion by yourselves).
The loud songs of Broadway or the bright bulbs flashing across the marquee of a theatre symbolize the people who travel to Hollywood looking for their chance at stardom. The stars in their eyes are a moment of hope, faith and fortune. The next Hollywood blockbuster actor or actress, or the next hip-hop rapper or bubble gum popping tune stuck inside your head driving you nuts trying to find out the song, the artist.
Recently, we have acknowledged that Hollywood is not all that it’s cracked up to be, even though the real score of Hollywood is designed throughout the world as the place to try your luck that would make Las Vegas casinos green with envy. The darkened shadows that lurk within the alleys and the back lots of sound studios are said to be nothing more than the exploitation of young and foolish hearts who are blinded by the promise land of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. This is nothing new inside the industry where fame and fortune are at the mercy of high rollers.
The P. Diddy implosion of power, control, intimidation, exploitation, and sex scandals are emerging through the exposure of celebrity names, and their role in the game of lust and control. But when you symbolize the role of the celebrity powers of music, films, and big names that can bring a whole industry down to its knees can also be symbolic to what’s occurring inside the El Paso Police Department.
The power-hungry roll of the dice of exploitation of ranks, titles, and symbols is a mass to the lucky ones who were polished, groomed, and hand-picked to be at the Chief’s office. The solidarity of Hollywood and EPPD is quite dark amid its power. Imagine you are an officer who wants to create a force of truth, justice, and righteousness, you will be standing alone on an empty platform of a blackened name, and reputation. But surely this cannot be true? This is the police department that structure truths, rights, and lawful acts by the essence by the very book of law. This is sad to say but this is far from the truth most officers rule by the costumes they wear and the guns on their side. Role-playing a cop in today’s world is a truth of deception or a scarecrow formality.
But how did this happen? This happened through greed, laziness and exploitation of power by a title/rank. The El Paso Police Department is voicing its hefty load of Officers/Detectives personnel of the belief of 1,100 strong! However, you will find the true grunt of boots on the ground to patrol the City of El Paso, North, South, East, and West of a mere consistency of 164 Officers trying to keep you safe! How on Earth is this even functional? How is this allowed? Why are more officers sitting on chairs in comfy offices playing administrative duties Monday through Friday working 8-hour shifts? The true value of these Officers is an indication of getting rid of these comfy jobs to civilians, there is no need to have officers doing admin jobs while 164 Officers patrol these streets. There is no true evidence that 2/3rds of this workforce even plays any real significance to Patrol or to that uniform.
The real officers on the streets wear the scraped-up boots, the holes in their socks, the worn-out faded uniforms, the torn sleeves, the buttons undone, or broken off and are faced carrying the load of a whole city/region upon their shoulders! These are kids who are fighting an evil battle of internal complacency within the ranks. But don’t try to speak up for help from your Lieutenants’ or Chiefs, you will be faced with harsh suspensions or worse, a pint-sized Assistant Chief will be dispatched with tape measure in hand measuring your nails to write you up for a dress code violation.
Why in times of true chaos of high importance are these souls trying to keep the peace when all they get from their upper executive staff such as the chief office slamming them down with unfounded suspensions that lead to extreme infrastructure failures? The very people who hand down these decisions cannot even fathom how to turn the onboard computer system to a police unit.
How can Officers take away someone’s rights by due course of law externally when they can’t fight the internal corruption of wrongdoings? This is a Hollywood mentality of the highest corruption formed by the very hands of the Chiefs office. How can an organization run on low-impact of personnel? Why are Lieutenants immune to not take calls? What real significance do they have to justify their existence besides writing officers and sergeants up for pettiness to justify their very own existence? Why are they not out on the streets dealing with these calls, they wear the same insignia of a patrol patch, and uniform, they are trained as Officers why are they excused from participating? Is it because it’s the elite handshake of “immunity” from all wrongdoings or the Frank Rodriguez rule of thumb? Or is he the P-Diddy of the EPPD now?
There needs to be accountability and liability to the structure and the running of this department that is easily overlooked because it’s the “good ole boy system”. When you have a Chief of police stating:” He’s not one of us, he’s a foreigner” tells you the very state of the affairs of this prejudiced department. Sergeants and Officers are the scapegoats within the department, it’s the true David Copperfield of illusions to demonstrate the Department cracks down on bad behavior, even if you are the complainant, or saving a man’s life where the retroactive training bulletins are back peddled to implement an occupational code penalty of a Class A Misdemeanor to Feb 7th 2024 that was released March 29th 2024.
Justice in the EPPD, please far from it, it’s a department well-oiled of dirty, under-the-table racket, no different to the evidence portraying out of Hollywood. But like Hollywood, the truth shall overflow with official names, video, audio, documents, all the grime of years of absolute cloak and daggers coming to the light of the public. The door has been opened for public opinion, my husband’s case is the true essence of debauchment from these people, lies, deception, persecution, bias, and discrimination to crucify a Sergeant for speaking out against a rogue Lieutenant Frank Rodriguez. Yet, my husband was stripped for being a Lieutenant because the Chief said so! How’s that for fairness, non-biased amplitude of carrying 4 stars?
In the words of Chief Inciriaga:” What did we ever do to Camp”? This is your assistant chief on audio recording stating this to her executive partners. How can we allow such poisonous, toxicity to be in charge of a Police Department? Shame on the citizens of El Paso for allowing this to be your greatest victory, a rogue Police Department with 164 officers patrolling your streets, good luck in getting an officer at your door when you need to dial 911.
So, if you still want to have a career in the El Paso Police Department, my advice to you is simple, YOU need to go to a real city with a real Police Department, otherwise they will come after you because YOU are not one of them, the drama and scandals of the after parties of the EPPD would make P-Diddy blush!
