Police: No Transparency – One New Yorker is Ready to Bring It

18 June 2024, El Paso, Texas, Steven Zimmerman – the following was submitted to us by Aysha Camp, wife of Sgt. Chris Camp of the El Paso Police Department.

Over the last few months, the Camps have been put through a living hell by the El Paso Police Department and their fear of transparency, admitting that the Crisis Intervention Team is not sufficiently trained to handle a suicidal suspect.

Ms. Camps letter:

Update to our story of how the El Paso Police Department is persecuting my husband, a real hero (Sgt who deserves to be Lt. Camp) for saving a man’s life…..

Firstly, I want to thank the generous support and love from the Men and Women who are constantly supporting my husband the real “underdog ” who continues to fight for the rights of his own family and for all the men and women who are patrolling these streets.

As you all know my husband courageously put his life on the line to protect the safety of his Officers and the public when a man who was suicidal, held a gun to his head with thoughts of this being his only way out. My husband disarmed the man within 3 minutes (according to the news on TV where KTSM failed to report the true events of what happened) this was quite obviously spoon-fed by the useless PIOs of the El Paso Police Department who have a personal vendetta against my husband since 2016. But despite the care and professional attributes of my husband who saved the life of a desperate man, his own Department has been persecuting him ever since I released the video in March 2024.

The Chief of Police decided to go after my husband because I believe wholeheartedly that it was because my husband did the job that CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) failed to do, instead they were hiding in a bush and behind a metal box scared to do their jobs.

Today, June 18th, 2024 (Tuesday), my husband’s presence was requested at the El Paso Police Department (911 Raynor) to pick up limited property that the EPPD (SIU) and CSU invaded our home and took various electronic equipment on a waste of taxpayers money for a witch hunt headed by Chief Peter Pacillas. My husband arrived accompanied by his Attorney Justin Underwood. Please remember the invasion of 11 people who stormed our residence and stole our personal belongings smirking, drinking our water, Gatorade, and using our Air Conditioning without any consent whatsoever, and desecrating my father’s ashes; to this day no apology has been made. They took my husband’s laptop and phones knowing my husband relies on this form of communication to speak to his deaf mother (through Facetime) who is 90 years of age and in heart failure, and his father who is 86 years of age and has prostate cancer, but they couldn’t care less they took it with a smirk and no regard to the fact that my husband is their only child.

My husband received some of the property but not the property he was hoping for such as his iPhone that was originally taken without any consent or any warrant directed by Chief “Daddy” Pacillas according to Detective Ontiveros and Detective Hinojos, but we all know that the messenger will have to answer to a judge for these actions. The external hard drive has sentimental value as it has personal photographs of his daughter, his mother, and his father that no amount of money can replace and is still at the mercy of the Department. The whole charade of this search was for a thumb drive with a video of the suicide subject that the world has now seen, yet they gave that back.

WHY do they need this hard drive it has no significance to this incident, is this because Chris told Sgt Mike Chavez of SIU that this hard drive was sentimental to him and if any file or image has been destroyed there will be serious liability issues coming forth? Is this purely out of retaliation?

Detective Ontiveros then asked Attorney Justin Underwood if (I) “Aysha would be willing to come to Headquarters to make a statement” to which my husband stated loudly “Fuck No” and then Detective Ontiveros went on to ask :”Do you think she would reach out to us by phone” to which my husband stated yet again :”Fuck NO, she’s not talking to you guys”.

It was within minutes when Chris left HQ, I received a telephone call from 915-212-4000 (EPPD) when Detective Ontiveros left a voice message asking if I would make a statement at Headquarters.

I will respond in this media outlet so there is NO doubt in what I mean: EPPD, Chief Pacillas, Detective Ontiveros, Detective Hinojos, CSU, and the two west side patrol officers who stood guard outside our residence for the crime of the century. I DO NOT, NOR DO I EVER WISH TO MAKE ANY FORMAL STATEMENT TO ANY OF YOU. ALL MY STATEMENTS WILL BE MADE THROUGH THE MEDIA IN PLAIN BLACK AND WHITE. BUT BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE CONFUSING FOR THESE DETECTIVES, I AM SURE YOU WILL HEAR ME LOUD AND READ IT IN BOLD WHEN I TALK TO THE NATIONAL PRESS THAT’S LINING UP TO SPEAK TO ME ABOUT THIS MANHUNT AGAINST MY HUSBAND. I WANT TO MAKE ALL OF YOU FAMOUS! THIS IS MY STATEMENT AND TUNE INTO NATIONAL NEWS BOTH IN PAPER FORMAT AND TELEVISED FORMAT IT’S COMING AND IT’S GOING TO BE LOUD!

To be continued………

Waiting for My husband’s arrest, my husband to be terminated from the city, waiting for never being promoted, waiting for pitiful administration suspensions, waiting for a DA to pick up a non-arrest, waiting for the actual budgeting of this witch hunt from taxpayers, waiting for more harassment, waiting for my husband to be retaliated against further from Lt. Frank Rodriguez, waiting for Chief Pacillas to order my husband to his office, waiting for the shit storm to brew……….

I’m very patient, but never underestimate a New Yorker!
