Another Officer Speaks Out, Again
The following was shared by an Officer with the El Paso Police Department:
I want to comment on the articles you’ve written about Lt. Frank Rodriguez. That man should not have ever been allowed to wear a badge.
We all support Sgt. Camp, who is now suspended. Why is he suspended? It’s not over a video he released; it’s not even over them searching his desk. It’s over favoritism, and nothing more.
Rodriguez has always been an insufferable ass; with Camp gone, he is worse. Frank doesn’t care about us officers at all. He cares about money.
When Camp was here, Rodriguez would always make snide comments behind Camp’s back. He would have this **** eating grin on his face. He acts like he is still in middle school and that he is going to get someone killed.
Like the piece you wrote about the shooting at 8500 Dyer. I was there. When he showed up, he made fun of Camp over his radio calls and yelled at everyone else there. Rodriguez should have been there, should have helped get FMS rolling, and we wouldn’t have had a dead guy dragged into the back of a unit.
Yes, Rodriguez should have been there. His job was to be there and not more over time.
Now he’s insufferable. He walks around here like he’s the king and untouchable. He believes he’s more important than he is. He talks about his money, overtime, house, and being at Westpoint; he is nothing more than a child.
When the department picks people like Rodriguez or CIT Perez, it shows that we don’t matter—we are the guys on the street doing the actual work while they sit in their comfy chairs, collecting checks for **** all.
We are also not supposed to talk to Camp, per command. They want him to be alone in this, but some of us don’t care and are in contact with him. The department is about to lose a whole lot of good cops over what they are doing to Camp.
I’m going to move from the Northeast. I can’t stand the vibe here.
